About Our Church
A Brief History of Christiana Presbyterian Church
Christiana Presbyterian Church is one of 95 congregations of the Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.) in the Presbytery of Middle Tennessee. The original congregation
dates back to 1884, when it began its life as a Cumberland Presbyterian
Church. In 1910, the congregation became part of the current denomination.
A building was constructed on the corner of Suggs Road and Church Street
in what was then downtown Christiana.
Over the following ninety years, Christiana Presbyterian Church kept
a faithful witness to Christ through good times and hard times. In 1994,
only a handful of members remained. Faced with the possibility of closing
its doors, the tiny congregation chose instead to seek financial resources
from the denomination, call a full-time pastor, and relocate to its new
site on the corner of US231 and Parsons Road.
March 26, 2000, we began life in our new church home. We are still a
small church, but we have a large vision. Our current building is a multi-purpose
meeting space, which will become the Christian education wing of the complete
facility we have in mind. The next phase of construction will house a sanctuary,
offices, and more classrooms. We also have a fellowship and recreation
facility in our future plans.
We are continuing to grow. Our goal is to become whatever
size church God is calling us to be, reaching out to our community in
love and service, inviting people into the life of the congregation and
into the way of Jesus Christ. Come and join us!

and loved?
*Do you want a church where worship is lively, discipleship is real, and

Here at Christiana Presbyterian, we mean it when we say that we are
a church "where you are a stranger only once". You will discover that your
welcome is warm and immediate, and you will find an abundance of good life

The ministries of our church are growing, and we are adding
new ones all the time. Sunday School for all ages begins at 10:00 a.m.,
and worship begins at 11:00 a.m. each Sunday morning. Our weekday ministries
include regular congregational fellowship events and fellowship group
gatherings, a Preschool program, and a Bible study group. We are beginning
to develop a music program for adults and children. We also engage in
numerous outreach ministries in service to our community and to the global
community.
Does all this sound good to you? Then come and see us. We will be looking
for you!
